Arts & Living Culture – Research Study

Brecknock Consulting were engaged by Adelaide City Council to undertake national and international benchmark research into “Cultural Vitality” initiatives by other city councils. The research was undertaken to provide the City with a resource of potential directions in framing future cultural strategies and policy. Research focused on exploring: options for supporting the growth of artists living and working within the central city; animating public spaces through arts activities to increase visitation and length of time people spend in the CBD; and the development of cultural indicators and evaluation tools to assess the long term value of cultural animation. In the course of this project extensive research was undertaken into innovative public art programs being undertaken in Australia and overseas.
