Port Waterfront Public Art Framework
Client: City of Port Adelaide Enfield, New Port Quays P/L and Land Management Corp. SA, 2006-2007
Brecknock Consulting were engaged to: review the redevelopment planning for New Port Quays; research the rich history of Port Adelaide; consult with the arts community; analyse the impacts of the proposed development on the culture of “the Port”; and to identify options for the integration of public art over the ten year timeframe for the percent for art obligation.
Following the research and analysis phase the team developed a public art framework to inform the staged commissioning of public art for both the Newport Quays percent for art obligation and associated Port Adelaide city centre commitment area to be undertaken by Council and the State Government.
