Arts & Cultural Policy – Public Art Strategy
Client: Mount Alexander Shire, VIC, 2010
Brecknock Consulting were engaged to work with Council officers on the development of both an Arts and Cultural Policy and a Public Art Strategy for the Mount Alexander Shire. The Shire and the historic city of Castlemaine are acknowledged as a regional centre for the arts, including the Castlemaine State Festival which attracts visitors from across Victoria and interstate. The community consultation process involved one on one meetings, stakeholder sessions and focus groups in Castlemaine and rural towns across the Shire. In addition, both the general public and the arts sector were surveyed through online and hard copy questionnaires.
