Cultural Facilities Audit and Cultural/Arts Discussion Paper

Brecknock Consulting undertook a cultural facilities audit focused primarily on the Fitzroy and Collingwood Town Halls and the Abbotsford Convent Arts Centre in order to advise Council on the strategic role that these facilities can play in supporting cultural activity in the city. The consultation process involved one-on-one sessions with key stakeholders, group meetings with Councillors, Council’s advisory groups and over a hundred local artists, arts organisations, business owners and community representatives. Survey forms were distributed to collect data related to community, practitioner and organisational perspectives on arts and cultural issues. The findings were compiled into a Discussion Paper to inform the development of a new four year Culture and Arts Plan for the City of Yarra.
