Brisbane City Centre Public Art Master Plan
Client: Brisbane City Council, QLD, 2006-2007
Brecknock Consulting were engaged to head a multidisciplinary team on the development of a public art Master Plan for Brisbane’s central city. The public art Master Plan a companion document to the Brisbane City Centre Master Plan informs the integration of permanent and temporary art throughout the city centre, park lands and riverine environments. The Public Art Master Plan provides an overall curatorial vision to inform the future commissioning of artworks by Council, state government and the private sector within the Brisbane City Centre.
As a supplement to the Brisbane City Centre Public Art Master Plan, Brecknock Consulting were engaged to prepare a Developers Handbook. The handbook provides private sector developers with a guide to meeting Brisbane City Council’s percent for art obligation as part of the development assessment process. This document supersedes the Developers Manual previously prepared by Brecknock Consulting in 1999 and brings the process into line with current best practices and the conceptual framework articulated in the Master Plan.
