Cultural Mapping and Cultural Strategy

Brecknock Consulting in association with Professor Justin O’Connor from Queensland University of Technology [QUT] and John Armstrong, undertook a significant Cultural Mapping project for the recently amalgamated Council which brought together the previous Caboolture, Pine Rivers and Redcliffe Councils to create the third largest local government area in Australia with a population of over 330,000 residents. The project involved: extensive mapping and auditing of existing cultural facilities and services; a comprehensive survey utilising both online and face to face questionnaire processes; and stakeholder focus groups and a regional conference. Creative Industry activity in the region was also mapped in conjunction with QUT’s Centre for Creative Industries.
